May Proust: Wendy Puyat

Your symbol of high fashion – An individual style inside and out, a point of view that is one’s own that is not only worn but lived

Your favourite fabric – I love good silks, cashmere and beaded fabrics

Your favourite colour – This season I love a neutral shade of blush pink, bright melon or a gorgeous red

The collection you will never forget – Stella McCartney’s first ever collection for Chloe changed the way I dressed, it was so fresh for its time

The style you most dislike – Head to toe branded looks that scream I just escaped from a communist country and can now spend ridiculous money on clothes

Your favourite fashion photographer – Mario Testino

Your favourite model – Carmen Kass, Ana Beatriz Barrios or Karlie Kloss

Your shoe/shoe designer fetish – Christian Louboutin although they are becoming somewhat of a predictable uniform, Valentino, YSL, Brian Atwood, Jimmy Choo, Casadei…I just love shoes and can go on forever

Your jewel/jewelry designer fetish – Cartier and fun jewelry otherwise it’s very ageing

Your favourite fashion accessory – Great shoes always

Your ideal bag – One that is timeless, elegant yet practical to use at night – I dislike only being able to put one lipstick and credit card into a bag

The most creative designer – Hussein Chalayan or Martin Margiela

The most timeless designer – Yves Saint Laurent

Your favourite designer – I love Alaïa, Givenchy and YSL

Your favourite decade in fashion – I like how after the 80’s fashion became a no rules game – no one hemline, no correct or incorrect, just individual style

Your contemporary muse or inspiration – Carine Roitfeld, Emmanuelle Alt, love those French girls and how they can rock Balmain one day and Dior the next while still looking gritty yet polished in a way that comes naturally only to them

Your historical muse or icon – Brigitte Bardot

The “look” you prefer for a man – Clean cut with a twist of fashion flair, but nothing too studied

The “look” you prefer for a woman – Elegant, easy, but with an element of risk taking

The fashion faux pas you can tolerate most – What has now become the universal uniform of Herve Leger dresses with Louboutin heels because I hate that everyone does it…but then I still do it myself!

The fashion faux pas you can tolerate least – Clothes that are too much like costumes and veer toward the ridiculous or overdoing a trend

What is your present state of mind? I hope this isn’t boring you

Your fashion motto – Always make an effort to look put together even if very rushed or uninspired
