Rodarte at Pitti W

Rodarte created 10 jaw-dropping couture gowns exclusively for this year's 8th edition of Pitti W
inspired by Fra Angelico's frescoes in the monks’ cells at the Convent of San Marco as well as
Bernini’s The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa.
Kate and Laura Mulleavy worked with Alexandre de Betak and Bureau Betak to create a site-specific
installation for these 10 gowns in a disused building in central Florence, featuring a series of
chambers where the pieces (made of tulle, feathers, Swarovski crystals, taffeta, hand-forged gold
metal and tons of other yummy materials) were displayed with neon light constructions. Alas, no
one will get to personally own any of these as they've all already been gifted to the
Los Angeles County Museum of Art after its time in Florence. How lucky for those of you in LA!
